Class Teacher,Year 2

Mauritian

Education: Certificate In Early Years Education, Diploma in Counselling

I joined IPS twenty years ago after having worked in a number of pre-primary schools on the island.
I was a floating teacher in Lower Primary for a year and taught the four/ five-year-olds for a long time before joining the Lower Primary team as a Year Two teacher this year (2017-18)

In addition to my class teacher’s hat, I have been the school’s PSHE coordinator and the part time counselor.
I believe in an education that promotes EQ alongside IQ, one that builds relationships while sharing knowledge, an education that empowers us to function beyond the classroom and anywhere around the world.
As a parent of two young adults, I value parents’ contributions in this learning journey.
I love working at IPS, we are dynamic community of life -long learners who believe in doing our very best all the time!
One of my mottos as a teacher is courtesy of Maria Montessori: ‘The greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say: « The children are now working as if I do not exist».
