Although I’m in my sixth year of teaching at I.P.S., this is my twenty-second year of full-time teaching. I worked in a variety of teaching and leadership/administrative roles in South Africa, before moving to Mauritius.

Although I enjoy teaching the Class 4, I have worked in classrooms ranging from Class 3 to Class 7. In addition to teaching, I have been a Class 4 co-ordinator, an assistant boarder mistress and a sports co-ordinator, for both girls and boys sports.

When one dreams of becoming a teacher, a vision is in place of what you think it may be like. The idea of student’s seeking more information, inquiring minds growing daily and then the excitement in a student’s eyes when they finally understand a concept or achieve their goal. Some visions are not necessarily an automatic reality, they take more time and dedication to achieve, but making a difference in a child’s life at that moment, is a reality of teaching. This is one of the reasons why teaching is my passion.
