Upon joining IPS, it will be my third year as a full-time educator. I previously taught in Qatar for two years. And before that, I was teaching English in South Korea for three years.
In Qatar, I was a Kindergarten teacher (5 and 6-year-olds). That age group is one that I am very passionate about teaching. I take pleasure in helping them start their academic careers, while also oftentimes being their first teacher in an academic setting. I enjoy teaching reading, and it is my goal to become a reading specialist within the next 5 years of my career.
I am very intrigued about inquiry-based learning and the PYP program, and what that looks like in an early years classroom. I chose to join IPS because I feel as though the school and the faculty are a good fit for me as an educator. And I look forward to what the next three years at IPS have to offer!
